Welcome to The Wee Explorers, where we provide children with a nature-filled space to explore, create and learn about the world around them. Our school is called The Wee Explorers because our little students are always encouraged to ask questions and explore their surroundings. We believe that children learn best in an environment that is free of walls and desks. Our team of experienced educators uses play-based learning methods to create a fun learning environment that inspires both creativity and imagination.

We believe in nurturing the natural curiosity of every child through meaningful outdoor experiences. Our Forest School program offers a unique approach to education, with each session based on a children's book to spark their imagination and curiosity. Children have the freedom to explore and learn about nature, taking supported risks along the way. We encourage all children to embrace their natural curiosity and lead their own learning, creating an opportunity for them to discover their own interests and passions in a beautiful natural setting.

A Little About Myself

Hannah

I am currently an early years worker and the outdoor lead in an EYC, based in Milngavie, encouraging outdoor learning provisions daily for 2–5-year-olds and run a forest school session during the week with children aged 4-5. This has allowed me to understand the importance of outdoor learning and forest school equally and want to merge them together.

I wanted to start The Wee Explorers to encourage children to build a positive relationship with nature and grow a love for the environment, learning and developing through play and forest school, feeling safe and supported whilst doing so. I myself, have a love for the environment, having grown up on a small holding with lots of animals and raised by an outdoor educator, I have a great deal of passion for it.
